FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Smart Money Louisiana Launches Social Media Campaign to Oppose Credit Card Competition Act of 2023

Louisiana, USA - May, 1 2024 - Smart Money Louisiana (SMLA), a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting intelligent financial decisions across the state, has launched a new social media campaign titled "Protect My Points," urging Louisiana voters to voice their opposition to the Credit Card Competition Act of 2023.

The campaign, spearheaded by SMLA, aims to educate Louisiana residents about the potential negative impacts of the Credit Card Competition Act and empower them to take action against it. The CCCA, proposed by Senator Durbin (D-IL) has raised concerns among consumer advocacy groups and financial experts alike.

"At Smart Money Louisiana, we believe in advocating for responsible fiscal choices, both on an individual level and on a broader scale," SMLA released in an official statement. "The Credit Card Competition Act of 2023 poses significant risks to consumers and the overall financial health of our state, and it's imperative that we come together to oppose it."

As part of the Protect My Points campaign, SMLA has unveiled a new social media sticker that allows users to easily show their opposition to the Act on platforms such as Facebook and Instagram. By simply adding the sticker to their stories, Louisiana voters can join the movement to protect their financial interests.

"We wanted to make it as simple as possible for people to make their voices heard," explained SMLA. "With just a few taps, social media users can show their support for smart financial policies and stand against the Credit Card Competition Act."

The Credit Card Competition Act of 2023 has been criticized for potentially reducing consumer choice, increasing fees, and limiting access to credit for Louisiana residents. By opposing the Act, SMLA hopes to safeguard the financial well-being of individuals and families across the state.
